Bog Bodies

Smart horror starring Vinnie Jones

Bog Bodies is a funny-scary smart horror movie starring Vinnie Jones (X-Men III),  Jason Barry (Titanic), Nora-Jane Noone (The Descent) and Adam Fogarty (Snatch). The script was written and directed by Brendan Foley (Johnny Was, Under the Wire, The Riddle).

cvSYNPOSIS
A 2000-year old body, preserved in Ireland’s peat bogs, is dug up and dumped by a property developer. It goes in search of a new place to lie down and causes havoc en route, meeting up with a group of young Irish and American characters, who each unwittingly share a guilty secret.

Note – Bog Bodies are a true phenomenon, found all over northern Europe, the naturally mummified remains of ancient murder victims, preserved in the mineral-rich waters of peat bogs for thousands of years.

VINNIE JONES plays Mr. Hunter, an enigmatic hunter who lives in a rundown shack in the heart of the boglands and whose real ‘big game’ is tracking and destroying Bog Bodies.  Vinnie is probably the most successful transition from sports start to film star in the business. His work ranges from Lock Stock and Snatch to X-Men - Last Stand.

testJASON BARRY is best known for the role of  heart-throb Tommy Ryan, Leonardo diCaprio’s Irish buddy in Titanic. Since then, Jason’s performances have included roles in Mirrormask and Beyond Re-animator. In Bog Bodies he plays the role of David, an archaeologist driven by the discovery of a living relic of the past.

testNORA-JANE NOONE is, despite her youth, one of the finest actresses to come out of Ireland in a generation. From her break-out performance in The Magdalene Sisters to her recent box office success in The Descent, NJ is always captivating on screen. She plays Saiorse, a complex character, lumbered with looking after a visiting archaeologist and faced with digging up a past she would rather forget.

ADAM FOGARTY, aka Gorgeous George from Snatch is a versatile giant, also known for great performances in Mean Machine, Green Fingers, Submerged, Played and the upcoming Stardust. He plays the title role of Bog Bodies, a 2000 year-old warrior, rudely dug up and faced with a hostile new world.
